I am having some trouble with iSCSICake. I am testing it and another iSCSI solution. I have it installed on a new Windows 2008 standard x64 server. Testing with just the built in intel RAID. I get connection failures on adding the portal to the client machines when the firewall is turned on.

I am testing with a Win 2k8 and Vista Ultimate clients, both operate the same way. I have started the iSCSI service, and allowed it through the firewall. I have added the storage server program to the firewall. I have manually added 3260, 135, 138 udp to the firewall. No matter what gyrations i go through, it only works when i disable the firewall on the storage server.

Its a brand new server, no other applications installed. iSCSICake and the other iSCSI service i am testing both have the same problem. Are there other ports or something else i am missing? I tried loading a port monitor on the storage server to see if there were other ports in use, but i didnt see anything else.

Yahoo! Messenger 9.0 and Yahoo Messenger 10 Beta runs on Windows XP, or Vista (probably Windows 7 too). Only 9.0 will run on Windows 2000 and neither will work on Windows ME or 98.

First reboot your computer and then try downloading the full installer of Yahoo! Messenger (choose either 9.0 or 10 Beta on the links below) and save it to your desktop. It comes directly from a Yahoo! server and by-passes the web installer that most use and some have issues with (though often they can be avoided) on Windows Vista right click the full installer and choose “Install as Administrator”.

Vista users if still unable to install it, after you download the installer, you might have to temporarily disable the User Account Control (UAC). You can easily turn it back on. On the Control Panel (Category View) choose User Accounts and Family Safety, next choose User Accounts, and then click Turn User Account Control on or off.
